Okapi BehaviorOkapis are active during the daytime. These animals are ruminants. They swallow the food and later regurgitate it, then they chew and swallow it. Okapis eat buds, grass, fungi and fruits. Okapis are solitary animals, coming together only to breed. They mark their territory with urine. Okapis can sleep for 5 minutes in a 24 hour period in order to remain alert. The leopard is their only large predator.
